Has anyone been able to build PVM 3.4 and use LF95 v5.7 to write parallel Fortran applications in a multi-CPU parallel virtual machine in a Windows XP environment?
If so, I'd like to correspond with you about how all this was done. I'm no expert in parallel programming, using network connections, or anything else except I am interested in using such a loosely-coupled environment for simulations with some statistical codes. I see the potential of decreasing months of work to days or weeks. I need the heterogeneity capability of PVM as well as its ability to lose nodes and recover, so MPI is not an option (unless someone has done some greater meta-magic with MPI).
