Lahey Announces PathScale Partnership
June 15, 2004, Incline Village, Nevada — Lahey Computer Systems, Inc., developer of Fortran language systems for scientists and engineers, has announced a partnership with PathScale, Inc. to resell PathScale's 64-bit EKO Compiler Suite. PathScale is a developer of innovative software and hardware solutions that accelerate the performance and efficiency of Linux clusters. The EKO Compiler Suite comprises C, C++, and Fortran 77/90/95 language systems and is the world's highest performance 64-bit compiler suite for Linux-based AMD Opteron systems.
"PathScale's philosophy is aligned with Lahey's," said Bill Lassaline, president of Lahey. "Quality matters as much as correctness and performance. The PathScale EKO Compiler Suite exploits the AMD64 architecture and will support the Intel EM64T when it becomes available. The mature compiler technology, based on SGI/Open64 code, is fully compatible with GNU C/C++ and supports Fortran 77, 90, and 95 with Cray/SGI extensions."
"A number of leading Opteron system integrators have joined the PathScale FastPathTM reseller program," said Nick Bavaro, VP of Sales at PathScale. "Were building relationships with many of the finest names in the industry to accelerate the delivery of our PathScale EKO Compiler Suite to end users. We're pleased to welcome Lahey Computer Systems, Inc."
Lahey is now accepting orders for PathScale's industry-leading suite of high-performance Linux language systems. C, C++, and Fortran can be ordered via the Lahey website at www.lahey.com or by contacting Lahey's sales department, sales@lahey.com, directly.
