Replacement for windowoutstring

Hello all, I would like to port my wisk code from LF95 5.5 to 5.7, I wonder if anyone is aware of / or has worked out an acceptable replacement for the windowoutstring? As it is now, the original calls to windowoutstring work fine, but since the statement is now on the way out, I would like to port to the new statements from the Graphics Text , viz. WGrTextString and related statements. I am aware of the fact that the coordinate system has been changed etc. What I am really looking for a set of subr calls which would reproduce the look and feel of the output from the windowoutstring.
