When running my program in a Windows 95 DOS Prompt window, I get an insufficient memory error when I run out of free RAM. How do I set up memory MS-DOS Prompt Properties for Windows 95?

First get into a DOS Box. Click on the control menu (the colorful MS-DOS symbol in the upper left hand corner) and scroll down to "properties" and click on that. This should pop up an MS-DOS Prompt Properties window. Click on the Memory Tab. Keep everything set to "Auto" but change "Expanded (EMS) memory" to "none" and change the "MS-DOS protected-mode (DPMI) memory" to "65535" (you'll have to type this in since it is not one of the choices offered). Having DPMI set to "Auto" will not take advantage of virtual memory. Note: this does not apply to Windows applications (-win or -winconsole); windows applications have access to all available virtual memory.
