I haven't been able to compile and link successfully in a DOS Window under NT. How do I need to set up my DOS Prompt configuration?

FOR WINDOWS NT WORKSTATION v3.51
We recommend specifying a PIF file in your MS-DOS Prompt "Program Item Properties - Command Line," which runs CMD.EXE. Our testing under Windows NT Workstation v3.51 has revealed the following PIF settings to work best:

Program Filename: CMD.EXE

Memory Required Limit ======
======== ===== Conventional -1 -1 EMS 0 0 XMS 0 -1

FOR WINDOWS NT v4.0
First check to see where your "SystemRoot" resides. To do this you can type "set" at a DOS prompt, the listing on your screen will tell you which directory is your "SystemRoot" directory. You should then bring up your Windows Explorer. For discussion purposes, say your "SystemRoot" directory is WINNT. Look for the WINNT folder and click on it. Now highlight the file that has the colorful MS-DOS symbol (usually the "_default" file ). Then click on the file menu (upper left-hand corner of the window) and scroll down to "properties" and click on that. This pops up a "_default Properties" window. Click on the Memory Tab. Keep everything set to 'Auto' but change "Expanded (EMS) memory" to 'none'. This same procedure should also be followed for the ED4W directory and the "Edlaunch" file. If you are experiencing memory problems, you should check your system's virtual memory. To do this click on "Start" and scroll up to "Settings" then click on "Control Panel". Next, double click on "System" then click on the "Performance" tab. You can now click on the "Change" button and check to see if your settings are high enough.
