Lahey ED for Windows by default sets files with the extension .c as C files; files with the extension .asm as assembly files; files with the extension .ini as initialization files, etc. It then color codes these files according to the syntax of C, assembly, initialization, etc. Lahey ED for Windows will only save files that are designated "Fortran" or "none." To save a C file, set its file type to "none" by selecting Options|File Extension Setup|C|Edit and set language to "none."
